WNBF JAPAN Regulations

Understanding the Judging Criteria

Athletes may not appeal judging decisions.

All results are considered final and are to be respected as the official evaluation of the judging panel and used as feedback for future competitive improvement.

Code of Conduct

Athletes are expected to maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship and professionalism in their conduct, appearance, and behavior.

Any actions that undermine the integrity, credibility, or development of the sport are prohibited.

Compliance with Competition Rules
Athletes must comply with all rules and policies established for each competition and cooperate with event officials to ensure the smooth operation of the event.
Tanning and Body Oil

Tanning and coloring products are permitted.

As application standards may vary by event, competitors should review the specific competition guidelines for details.

Anti-Doping Policy

The use of prohibited substances is strictly prohibited.

  • Polygraph examinations and urine testing may be conducted.

  • Test results are determined based on the analysis conducted by a designated laboratory in the United States.

Penalties for violations may include:

  • Suspension from competition

  • Publication of the athlete’s name

  • Invalidation of results

Eligibility for International Competition

For World Championship events, eligibility is generally awarded to top-placing athletes at qualifying competitions.

In addition, WNBF JAPAN registered athletes may compete in WNBF-affiliated events held in other countries (e.g., WNBF Taiwan), subject to the rules and entry requirements of each respective event.

WNBF JAPAN Policies and Community Guidelines

Relations with International Organizations

International competitive activities and cooperation shall be conducted in accordance with the principles of natural bodybuilding and are limited to the following organizations:

  1. World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF)

  2. Organizations recognized or affiliated with the WNBF

Relations with Domestic Organizations

Participation in competitions organized by other organizations is generally permitted.

However, to maintain fairness and competitive standards, athletes must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be a current paid member of WNBF JAPAN

  • Have competed in a WNBF JAPAN event during the current calendar year

  • Have undergone doping testing during the current calendar year

Note: These requirements are established to maintain competitive eligibility and the integrity of WNBF JAPAN athletes.

International Cooperation and Competition Eligibility

Participation in and activities related to international competitions shall be governed by the rules of the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation and the regulations of each respective event.

Amendments to These Regulations

Any matters not expressly provided for in these regulations shall be determined by the management of WNBF JAPAN.

WNBF JAPAN Athlete Registration Terms and Conditions (Annual Membership & Registration Fees)

Registration Period (Validity Period)

  • The registration period is from January 1 to December 31 of each calendar year.

  • Registration must be renewed annually and does not renew automatically.

Fees (Athlete Registration Fee)

  • Athlete Registration Fee: ¥8,000 (tax included) per registration year

Renewal and Re-Registration Policy

  • Registration is renewed annually upon payment of the annual membership fee (¥8,000).

Relationship to Competition Entry

The following requirements must be completed before submitting a competition entry:

  • Payment of a valid annual membership fee

  • Payment of any applicable registration fees, if required

Entries will be considered invalid if registration and/or payment has not been completed.

Scope of Registration

Registration is valid for all WNBF JAPAN competitions held within the applicable registration year.

Registration is personal and non-transferable.

Refund Policy

Annual membership fees and registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances once payment has been made.

Amendments to These Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions may be amended by WNBF JAPAN as necessary.

Important Notes

Registration for Athletes Residing Outside Japan

Athletes residing outside Japan must, in principle, register with the WNBF Affiliate in their country or region of residence.

Athletes who are already registered with another WNBF Affiliate may compete in WNBF JAPAN events without obtaining a separate WNBF JAPAN registration.

Athletes residing in Japan are required to register with WNBF JAPAN.
